Security forces apprehended an alleged over ground worker linked to the banned insurgent outfit NSCN(K) during a joint operation in Arunachal Pradesh. The arrest took place on October 12 in the Magantong area of Bordumsa, located within the Changlang district of the state.
The joint operation was successfully carried out by the 20 Assam Rifles and the Arunachal Pradesh Police. Authorities acted promptly upon receiving specific intelligence inputs regarding the movement and activities of individuals suspected to have ties with the NSCN(K) insurgent group.
The detained individual was identified as Wangphan Hakhun, the son of Phangwang Hakhun and a resident of Rajangar-II village under the Bordumsa Police Station jurisdiction in Changlang district. Preliminary interrogation findings indicate that the suspect was actively involved in collecting extortion funds and transferring money for the banned outfit.
According to the preliminary findings, Hakhun allegedly worked for SS Captain David Lowang, who serves as the outfit's revenue in-charge for Changlang district, and SS Captain Phuaney Hakhun. He was also suspected of providing essential logistical support to the cadres of the insurgent group.
