Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh stated on Thursday that his administration remains dedicated to resolving the issues faced by every community to establish a peaceful, safe, and inclusive state. The announcement followed a meeting at the Chief Minister's Secretariat in Imphal, where the Chief Minister interacted with a visiting delegation representing the Maring and Tangkhul Naga communities hailing from Machi located in Tengnoupal district.
During the discussions, the community representatives detailed multiple challenges regarding infrastructure, security, healthcare, and local development within the Maring Naga-inhabited villages of the district. The delegation was headed by Wairok Hangshing President of the Maring Uparap Assembly, Machi Village Chairman Bosco Maring, and Headman Jajo Sylvester. Among their primary requests, the delegates asked for enhanced road and bridge connectivity, the upgrade of the Machi Primary Health Centre to a Community Health Centre, increased police deployment at the Machi Block Police Station, better security for the local Bank of Baroda branch, and the construction of a community hall in every village.
After attentively listening to the delegation, Chief Minister Khemchand Singh promised that the state government would take appropriate action to address all the concerns that were brought forward during the meeting, according to a senior official from the Chief Minister's Office.
